A Look at the Diamonds and Gemstones from the 2018 Met Gala

 

 

We don’t know about you, but on May 7, 2018 — the day of the 2018 Met Gala — we couldn’t move our eyes from our screens. Hey, we didn’t want to miss even one celebrity strutting their amazing and, at times, outlandish and attention-grabbing outfits paired with stunning diamond jewelry and gemstone jewelry on the red carpet.

To be completely honest with you, we were there for the jewelry and we took notes!

These are the celebrities whose diamond jewelry and gemstone jewelry totally left us spellbound:

1.    Rihanna

RiRi, who co-chaired the annual event with Donatella Versace and Amal Clooney, did not disappoint us one bit. We were taken-a-back by her beautiful pendant from the Cartier Collection. To create the unique jewelry piece, the jeweler took a 1934 crucifix made from silver, gold, sapphires, diamonds, button pearls, round faceted rubies, opals and round faceted topaz.

The crucifix was then combined with the 1949 “Dove of the Holy Spirit,” which was made from diamonds, gold, sapphires, moonstones, opals, pearls, rubies, emeralds and a 17.20-carat  sapphire in the shape of a star. If that wasn’t enough, she also wore a diamond ring, gold hoop earrings and a pearl ring.

2.    Michelle Williams

Michelle Williams wore several pieces of beautiful jewelry, which had us in awe! Cartier was behind her amazing jewels, which included an 18k white gold black lacquer bracelet, which was embellished with 29.88carats with of diamonds. If that wasn’t enough, she was also wearing an 18k white gold ring.

3.    Lily Collins

Lily Collins not only had has blown away by her look, she also took our breath away with her jaw-dropping jewelry.. Again, it was a Cartier kind of day! She wore an 18k white gold and diamond necklace, circa 2007, an silver and onyx earrings and an 18k rose gold diamond ring.

4.    Naomi Watts

Naomi Watts, elegantly dressed in a gorgeous gown, was another celeb who showed up adorned in Cartier jewelry. She wore an 18k white gold, platinum and diamond bracelet, yellow diamond earrings and an 18k yellow gold and diamond ring.

5.    Priyanka Chopra

Priyanka Chopra was a walking advertisement for Cartier. She was decked out in tons of jewelry, and honestly, we have to make a list of all of the diamond and gemstone jewelry she wore because it was just that much! So, here it goes:

• 18k yellow gold pendant with emeralds, sapphires and rubies
• An 18k yellow gold ring with emeralds, diamonds, rubies and sapphires
• Two 18k yellow gold rings with rubies
• An 18k yellow gold ring with rubies and emeralds
• An 18k yellow gold ring with diamonds, citrine and black lacquer
• An 18k yellow gold ring with diamonds, peridot and black lacquer
• An 18k rose gold ring with diamonds
• An 18k rose gold ring with diamonds and onyx

 

Now that’s what we call a lot of jewelry!
